This year’s ABA League champion will have a place in the 2021-22 edition of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, as confirmed by Eurohoops. EuroLeague Basketball had officially marked the ABA champion as “priority holder” for a wild card in the last change of format, and it has been confirmed that ABA will have a team in competition next season.
ABA’s priority is because it is the only Euroleague-represented league that does not have a club with either a long or a short term license. The decision has also been easier after UNICS securing one of the two places reserved for Eurocup finalists. The 18th and final team for next season will be, according to Eurohoops, one between Zenit St Petersburg, Valencia and Virtus Bologna.
