EuroLeague Round 5: Panathinaikos scores in Istanbul: Fenerbahce beaten

Panathinaikos picked up a big win in EuroLeague Round 5 by defeating Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

In the 5th round of the EuroLeague, Panathinaikos won the big game on Fenerbahce’s court with a 76-81 victory. The visitors took the lead in the first half, only to see the Turkish side mount a comeback in the second, with Kostas Sloukas and Mathias Lessort scoring the game-winning points in the final minutes. It was an important victory for Ergin Ataman’s side, who beat one of the most prestigious teams to reach the last four of the competition.

Tarik Biberovic had 16 points and 6 rebounds for Fenerbahce, Baldwin IV had 14 points and Colson had 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Panathinaikos got 15 points from Nunn, 14 from Lessort and 13 from Sloukas.

Former Olimpia Milano player Nicolò Melli and Devon Hall finished with 8 and 7 points respectively.
