A dominant performance in Olympiacos Piraeus’s 60-93 win at ALBA Berlin in Round 24 has seen Sasha Vezenkov earn MVP of the Round honors for the fifth time this season. Vezenkov finished with a PIR of 40 after securing his seventh double-double of the campaign, having paired 28 points with 13 rebounds. He also had 1 assist, 1 steal and 4 fouls drawn. The Olympiacos forward’s shooting numbers were particularly impressive, as he went 6-for-7 on two-pointers, 4-of-6 from distance and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Vezenkov is just the fifth player to ever secure five MVP of the Round accolades in one season.
The second-best performance in Round 24 belongs to Wade Baldwin of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, as he had a 39 PIR in his team’s 86-89 loss to Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. Baldwin set a series of personal bests in that game, scoring 38 points, making 6 three-pointers and hitting 10 free throws. The guard recorded 5 rebounds, 5 rebounds and 12 fouls drawn, too. Next best PIR belongs to Chris Jones of Valencia Basket, having achieved a PIR of 33 after scoring 24 points, including a buzzer-beating game-winning three-pointer in a 91-92 win over Panathinaikos Athens. Jones also had 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Following him is Panathinaikos center Arturas Gudaitis, who shined in that same game with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block and 8 drawn fouls for a 32 PIR. Rounding out the list of Round 24’s best performers are Paris Lee of Panathinaikos and Edgaras Ulanovas of Zalgiris Kaunas, each of whom had a PIR of 26. Lee had 25 points and 7 assists, while Ulanovas posted 16 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds in a 79-75 win over Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.
