Ground-breaking technology will allow fans at home to enjoy spectacular pre-game shows throughout the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, this week.
All four games will be introduced by stunning spectacles created with augmented reality technology, featuring visual content specifically developed for the television audience mixed with live entertainment elements.
Each show will feature a DJ set and live dancing acts, highlighting the importance of music in the identity of the Final Four and the innovative urban mood of the shows. Live acts will interact with graphic animations displayed on different screens across the arena, all integrated with cutting-edge real-time technology that will cast digital elements on, above and around the court.
The first three shows – before the two semifinals on Friday and the third-place game on Sunday – will last 90 seconds and have been designed as a tribute to the host city of Cologne. An artistic 3D depiction of the city’s iconic landmarks will rise up from the court, incorporating virtual billboards displaying video highlights of the competing teams in action.
The championship game pre-game show is a three-minute spectacle based on the concept of an “F4th dimension” – devotion to basketball. The show unfolds with an action-packed countdown, taking spectators into different virtual dimensions.
For the second year, the pre-game shows are being created by Filmmaster Events, following its prize-winning productions at the 2019 Final Four in Vitoria. Part of the Italian Entertainment Network group, Filmmaster Events is one of the world’s most renowned creators and producers of events, live shows and ceremonies.
