Team Bahamas’ newest roster member is Eric Gordon.
Due to Article 22 of its Internal Regulations, USA Basketball allowed Gordon’s release and FIBA recognized his change of nationality representation.
A player is not permitted to switch national teams after taking part in a significant FIBA competition, according to Article 22. Gordon previously participated in the 2010 FIBA World Cup for the USA. If a player joins a national team development program and FIBA determines the move to be “in the best interest of basketball,” the article may be modified.
Gordon will be in Argentina in time to participate in the FIBA Americas Olympic Pre-Qualifiers.
It’s been a long time coming…and NOW it’s official.
Eric Gordon becomes the latest roster addition to Team Bahamas.
USA Basketball granted Gordon’s release and FIBA approved his change of country representation due to Article 22 of its Internal Regulations.
