Anadolu Efes Istanbul snatched home-court advantage away from AX Armani Exchange Milan by grabbing a 48-64 road victory thanks to a historic defensive effort.
The 48 points allowed snapped the previous record for fewest points for a home team in playoff history of 53 by Montepaschi Siena in 2009 against Panathinaikos Athens. It was also the fewest points Efes has allowed in a playoff game, besting the 60 points by Olympiacos Piraeus in 2017. Shane Larkin collected 16 points and 5 assists for the reigning champs and Vasilije Micic tallied 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists after missing the last three games. Efes will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when it plays Game 2 on Thursday at Mediolanum Forum. Nicolo Melli was the only Milan player in double figures, scoring 10 points with 6 rebounds but suffering a calf injury late in the game. Shavon Shields added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.
