Dubai BC, EuroLeague license close — and Emirates as new naming sponsor?

The Emirati club is close to securing a multi-year EuroLeague spot; Emirates reportedly in advanced talks to become the competition’s new title sponsor

Dubai BC is on the verge of a breakthrough moment: entry into the EuroLeague is all but confirmed, pending final signatures. Eurodevotion talks about it these hours.

Currently ranked third in the ABA Liga, behind Buducnost and Partizan and ahead of Crvena Zvezda, the ambitious UAE-based club is aligned with the EuroLeague’s strategic expansion into the Middle East — including the awarding of the Final Four to Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the license — reportedly multi-year — a major sponsorship move is also in the works: Emirates is said to be in advanced negotiations to become the EuroLeague’s new naming sponsor, replacing Turkish Airlines, whose decade-long deal ends this June. While branding details remain under discussion, an agreement appears likely.
