Donte DiVincenzo: ‘I would like to play for Italy’

Donte DiVincenzo could play with Italy next summer: these words give Italian fans hope.

In an interview with the New York Post, Donte DiVincenzo has spoken words that will give hope to Italian basketball fans. The Knicks player, who has been struggling for some time with the bureaucratic issues involved in obtaining Italian citizenship, has opened up about the possibility of playing for the Azzurri this summer. Here are his words.

From a logistical point of view and the way things are going, I don’t know if it’s possible. But if everything goes as it should and there are no problems, I would love it. There are still some obstacles to overcome, but it’s something I want to do, I’ve already told my family and my agent that I would love to represent a country. I hope to get all the paperwork done quickly and start as soon as possible if the opportunity arises”.

It should be remembered that the NBA Finals will end just two weeks before the Pre-Olympics, so a likely run in the Eastern Conference with his Knicks in the NBA playoffs could be a big obstacle to his desire to play for the Blue.
