Donovan Mitchell considers to leave Cavaliers in off-season

Donovan Mitchell could leave the Cleveland Cavaliers if the team fails to win the NBA title this year.

Mitchell, who was decisive in game 2 of the playoff series with Boston, considers not exercising his player option for the 2025-26 season, thus making himself free to sign with another team.

The Cavaliers are therefore at a crossroads: try to convince Mitchell to sign a long-term extension or trade him to recoup some of the significant assets spent on his acquisition from the Utah Jazz.
