Dolomiti Energia Trentino announces the signing of Eigirdas Žukauskas, a Lithuanian striker born in 1992, who has already participated several times in the tours of the Baltic national team, with which he played in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
A 204-centimeter, 105-kilogram wing, Zukauskas is a versatile player with very polite hands. He can shoot well from three-point range and from the iron, while also providing a strong rebounding presence.
Eigirdas was born on June 3, 1992 in Radviliškis, a small town in the heart of Lithuania. By the age of 18 he was already playing for an A2 club, Puntukas. After a few years of “digging in” in the Baltic minor leagues, he comes to the fore in the Lithuanian first division with the jersey of Alytus, where he comes close to double-digit averages with 9.1 points and 4.6 rebounds. In 2015, his first experience abroad in France, where he will play two seasons between the third and second divisions, before returning to Lithuania to Prienai.
In 2018 he began his VTB League stint with Parma Perm, where he played for four consecutive seasons at 11.2 points per game and tasted the European stage, playing in the FIBA Europe Cup. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he left Perm and finished the season in Turkey with Tofas Bursa, where he reached the quarterfinals of the BCL.
In the summer of 2022, he signed a two-year contract with BC Wolves and made his debut in the BKT EuroCup in the 2023-2024 season. Upon his return to Vilnius, Žukauskas played two great seasons, touching double-digit averages and ending his adventure with very good playoffs, averaging 12 points with 4 rebounds and shooting 54% from the field and 41.5% from three-point range.
