Dinos Mitoglou, the Greek forward and former player of Olimpia Milano, has chosen to appeal to the Sports Arbitration in Lausanne to reduce his 32-month disqualification for the use of the prohibited drug metandienone, as reported by gazzetta.gr.
Having resolved his contract with Olimpia Milano following the official announcement of the suspension, Mitoglou is currently training individually in Thessaloniki while awaiting developments in his case.
According to legal sources, the court’s decision could reduce his sentence by 8-12 months, which would mean that Mitoglou could return to play as early as March 2024, in the worst-case scenario.
If the sentence is reduced to 20 months, he could return to the field starting from November 2023. In Greece, Panathinaikos is reportedly ready to take Dinos Mitoglou back.
