Dinamo announces with great satisfaction the signing for next season of Miralem Halilovic, Bosnian from Tuzla class of 1991, a 206 cm by 106 kg centre, last season at Galatasaray in Turkey.

Federico Pasquini comments on Halilovic’s arrival:

“We are happy to have managed to bring home the signing of Miralem, an important player, whom we had already followed closely in the past but for a series of factors we had not managed to sign. He has technique, experience, knows the coach very well, and can bring us leadership in building the group. In addition, the relationship with Justin, with whom he has a very close relationship, has been decisive’.

THE PROFILE

An inside player with excellent technique, knowledge of the game and the ability to rebound with great timing. A long man who uses the short roll very well, almost as an assistant playmaker, who can stop, who in the idea will team up with Bendzius, a deadly shooter and perimeter wing. His greatest quality is that he has always given 100% everywhere, in training, in games, in the Cup, in the national team, former teammates speak of him as a mentality player.

He has been playing in the national team for 17 consecutive years since 2007 (14 years with the senior national team) with the under 16 until today

FRANCE AS A TRAMPOLINE

After working his way up through the ranks in the former Yugoslavia in both Bosnia and Croatia, especially in Zagreb with a parenthesis in Lithuania, Halilovic exploded in France where he spent six seasons between Orléans, Metropolitans Paris and Nanterre, becoming one of the best centres in the league and also showing off in the Eurocup. Last summer the ambitious call of Galatasaray in Turkey with whom he also played the Champions League.

NATIONAL TEAM

Played in the 2022 European Championships as captain of Bosnia in an iron group with Slovenia, France and Germany. 16 points and 10 rebounds in the success against Doncic and his teammates, another double-double against France that wasn’t enough for qualification after defeats against Lithuania and Germany. Six wins and six losses for Bosnia in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, where the Balkan republic was eliminated in the group with France, Lithuania and Montenegro.

Halilovic starred with his national team in the qualifiers, scoring an average of almost 15 points and eight rebounds, scoring 20 points against Bendzius’ Lithuania.

BIBBINS CONNECTION

In Halilovic’s signature there is also a lot of Bibbins and vice versa. The two players played together at Nanterre and have built a very solid and highly esteemed relationship.
