Dimitris Itoudis, Fenerbahce’s head coach, discussed the team’s new signings and his departure from the Greek national team in a recent interview. Fenerbahce has retained key players and added new faces like Yam Madar and Georgios Papagiannis. “It is very important that we kept the core untouched,” said Itoudis.
On Raul Neto’s injury, Itoudis stated that he doesn’t have a clear picture of Neto’s availability yet. “He sacrificed lots of money to accept our offer and play for us,” he added.
Itoudis also touched upon his decision to leave the Greek national team. “I have too many obligations keeping me back. So, I need to focus 100% on what Fenerbahce represents,” he explained.
Regarding the debate on naturalized players in national teams, Itoudis said he’s not against it. “That’s the law, and it is a rule. You can use it,” he concluded.
