The Detroit Pistons have decided to fire coach Monty Williams after only one season, despite five years and $65 million remaining on his contract.
This was the decision of new president Trajan Langdon. Williams, a two-time NBA coach of the year, had signed a six-year contract in Detroit after leaving the Suns.
With a new front office, Detroit will start a new search for the next coach.
