Real Madrid has made official the signing of Dennis Smith Jr, a former NBA player who made his first statements as a player for Los Blancos earlier today. Below are the words with which he introduced himself to his new fans.
The words of Dennis Smith Jr: “Luka Doncic and Jordi Fernandez are two people I respect a lot, they are important in basketball and they are very good to me about the club and the city. Doncic said he loves Madrid, so I didn’t have to think much when I decided to come to Europe”.
On making himself useful to the team: “I’m here to bring intensity, attack the iron, give assists to my teammates and be one of the best defenders in Europe. I have to have a winning mentality, help my teammates be the best they can be and fit in the locker room. I’m a guy that wants to do things the best I can. Before I came here, I watched my tapes from college and I noticed the difference between how I saw the game before and how I see it now. The most important thing for me is to help the team win”.
On the level of European basketball: “Every game is competitive, every possession counts. The players here never relax, they always want to compete at the highest level. That is something that is in my DNA and I want to live it”.
