German basketball federation has officially announced that Lakers guard Dennis Schröder will not be part of Germany’s Olympic roster because of the high insurance costs.
“I would have loved to have been there in Tokyo. It’s the Olympic Games, that’s pretty much the greatest honor for an athlete, and I’ve always dreamed of participating in the Olympics. I am of course very disappointed that I cannot play and fight with the team in this important tournament. But I’m very happy for all the twelve guys who are going to Tokyo now. They played a great qualification together and deserved to be part of it”, Schröder said in an official statement
