According to a source who spoke to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daryl Morey was not shocked that James Harden tried to make things personal in his request for a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Over the weekend, the Sixers informed Harden’s agent of their decision to remove him off the trade market.
Harden told the Sixers he wanted a trade and desired it to go to the Los Angeles Clippers when he exercised his $35.6 million player option for the 23–24 season. A deal between the Sixers and Clippers has not been successful.
When the Sixers rejected to negotiate with him before to the start of official free agency, insiders told Pompey that Harden’s initial annoyance with Morey was caused.
