Crvena Zvezda President Furious After Bayern Defeat: “You Pay Them to Rob You… Shameful”

Following a dramatic loss in Munich, tensions are boiling over at Crvena Zvezda

Following a dramatic loss in Munich, tensions are boiling over at Crvena Zvezda. The Serbian champions failed to qualify for the EuroLeague Playoffs, and post-game reactions were dominated by fierce criticism of the referees. First came head coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos, but then club president Željko Drčelić delivered an explosive statement.

“What we’ve seen all season, we saw again tonight. No one is doing us any favors, yet we’re treated like we should feel privileged just to play. You pay them to get robbed… it’s a disgrace,” Drčelić said bluntly.

GM Vasiljević Joins the Outcry

General Manager Nemanja Vasiljević also voiced his frustration during a live interview with Arena Sport:

“We’ve played four overtimes in the last four games. There’s a bitter taste in our mouths. Direct officiating mistakes sent the game into overtime. I have no words for the opposing coach’s behavior—it was disgraceful. But we’re proud of our players. Now we shift our focus to the ABA League, where critical games await, and then on to preparing for next season’s EuroLeague, where we want to take another step forward.”
