Crvena Zvezda president Covic says team's goal is a "multi-year Euroleague license"

Speaking in the team’s official podcast “Pick ‘n’ Talk”, Crvena Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic has said that the team’s goal is to secure, in the near future, a Euroleague multi-year license. The Serbian powerhouse, whom has played in 4 of 5 Euroleague season after the competition’s change in 2016, needs to win this year’s ABA Liga to secure participation for 2021-22.

“Our goal is to secure a multi-year license in the competition. I believe that there will be changes similar to those of the EuroCup. Whether it will be a league with 18 teams or with 20, I do not know. It does not take much thought to understand that we are moving in that direction. The goal of Crvena Zvezda is to become a shareholder of ECA. Why hide it? We are working in this direction”, Covic said.
