The Chicago Bulls may be looking at trade targets other than Zach LaVine. Eventually, the Bulls and DeMar DeRozan might agree to discuss transactions as well.
Chicago and DeRozan are still at odds during extension negotiations. In the summer of 2021, DeRozan signed a three-year contract with the Bulls as part of a sign-and-trade agreement with the San Antonio Spurs. He is currently in the final year of that contract. DeRozan and Chicago are reportedly at odds over years and money for a potential deal.
It’s plausible that the Bulls are considering a DeRozan deal as they try to make changes to their roster and salary structure. It is said that DeRozan will “keep an eye on” Chicago’s actions during the LaVine trade negotiations.
