Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons sidelined for at least another week

Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets will remain sidelined for at least another week, as announced by Nets coach Jacque Vaughn before the game.

Simmons is dealing with a nerve issue in his lower body, as revealed by his agent to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Coach Vaughn, quoted by Brian Lewis of the New York Post, commented: “It’s just an obstacle that has come up in his path right now. It’s not something he wanted to happen. He was playing well and it happened. Everyone’s body is different. That’s what he’s dealing with and we will support him as he goes through it.”

Simmons has a long history of back problems, though it’s unclear if this new issue is related to the previous ones.
