The Boston Celtics admitted that maintaining last season’s championship intensity has been a challenge. “We were a lion last season, and some games this year we’ve looked like a house cat,” said Kristaps Porzingis after their 122-107 win over the Mavericks.
Despite a strong 21-5 start, Boston has gone 11-9 since, dropping to second place in the Eastern Conference with a 32-14 record. Jaylen Brown, who had 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win, remains confident, saying, “Winter always turns to spring… The tide will turn.”
The Celtics haven’t won more than three consecutive games since November but believe a dominant run is imminent. “You just keep working,” Brown added. “Our energy hasn’t been the same, but that’s all right. The tide will turn.”
