Boris Diaw says Joel Embiid was interested in playing Eurobasket 2022

Embiid has seen his request for French naturalization accepted and will soon receive a passport

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid might have joined France NT for Eurobasket 2022 if not for an injury, as confirmed to L’Equipe by NT GM Boris Diaw

“We know that he’s still waiting for the French passport. When he obtains it, then he can start the process and apply for a FIBA license for the national team. He would’ve liked to play this summer if he hadn’t been injured. But he underwent hand surgery and didn’t return to basketball”, Diaw said
