The crisis in the French league over television rights continues. In fact, L’Equipe and SKWEEK are in sharp conflict over the broadcasting of LNB on television. In the 30th round of the league, to be played next weekend, only one game will be shown on TV, the one between LDLC Asvel Villeurbanne and Paris Basketball, while the other eight games will not be shown to the public, as reported by Le Parisien. The other games were supposed to be broadcast by SKWEEK, the online streaming platform that owns the rights to the LNB as well as the EuroLeague and EuroCup, but this will not be the case due to strong financial disagreements with L’Equipe.
SKWEEK is also one of the main sponsors of Asvel Villeurbanne and would have received only a part of the agreed sponsorship, so Tony Parker’s team will have to reduce its budget before next season.
