Bertram Derthona announces it has reached an agreement with Justin Gorham, a ’98 class forward who wore the Lietuvos Rytas jersey last season, with whom he won the Lithuanian championship.
The words of Marco Picchi, Bertram Derthona President: “The construction of our team is continuing and Justin Gorham boasts important successful experience in Europe, enhanced by his recent victory in the Lithuanian championship. Justin adds quality and physicality to the forward department to make next season’s roster more complete’.
CAREER – Born on 6 August 1998 in Columbia (Maryland, USA), Gorham took his first steps in basketball at Calvert Hall High School, before transferring to Towson for the first two years of his collegiate career. He then moved on to Houston in 2018, where he completed his collegiate career. He finished his senior year at 8.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, being named to the All-American Athletic Conference second quintet and awarded the AAC’s Most Improved Player.
After his adventure in Houston ended, Justin immediately moved to Europe for the start of his professional career. In 2021, he wore the Telekom Baskets Bonn jersey in Germany, where he produced 9 points and 5.7 rebounds on average. The following year, he played in Israel, with Hapoel Gilboa Galil, with whom he averaged over 13 points per game. His performance earned him a call from Lietuvos Rytas, playing in the LKL.
With the Lithuanian team, after finishing the season, he is among the protagonists of the championship victory – in the final against Zalgiris Kaunas – in 2023/24. His 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds in the season contributed to Lietuvos Rytas’ success. Now he arrives at Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
