Bayern Munich starts its EuroLeague season in style, defeating Real Madrid 97-89, led by former Olimpia players.
A crucial 13-0 run in the fourth quarter sealed the game for the German side, although Real Madrid closed the gap to within one point with 18 seconds left, thanks to two free throws from Facundo Campazzo.
Deck then fouled Lucic, who made both free throws to restore a three-point lead. Campazzo attempted to draw a foul on a three-pointer and was subsequently ejected for protesting. Lucic finished the game from the free-throw line.
For Bayern, Shabazz Napier led with 25 points, Johannes Voigtmann added 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Carsen Edwards contributed 14 points.
For Real Madrid, Campazzo recorded 19 points and 9 assists, Dzanan Musa added 18 points, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes chipped in with 12.
