Baskonia’s Alec Peters to undergo surgery

Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz announced on Sunday that forward Alec Peters will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday in the United States, prolonging his absence from the team roster for an indefinite period of time. Peters, 26, has yet to play for Baskonia this season after averaging 11.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in the last one, his first with the club. He has been sidelined with a knee injury suffered in preseason for which a conservative treatment was prescribed, but without satisfactory improvement yet, he will be operated on in Chicago on Tuesday and his prognosis determined afterwards. Peters became a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion in his first season in the competition with CSKA Moscow in 2018-19 and played one season for Anadolu Efes Istanbul before joining Baskonia one year ago.
