Yesterday, 13 March, was a great night in the Basketball Champions League as the fifth round came to an end. Here is what happened.
Unicaja staged a comeback to win 76-80 in the fifth game of Round I of the Basketball Champions League, thanks to an 8-19 run in the fourth period that decided the game. Cassius Winston’s 19 points and five assists, Austin Wiley’s 15 points and eight rebounds and Prewitt’s 12 points were not enough for the hosts. Unicaja got 19 points from Kendrick Perry, 13 points and 8 rebounds from Kravish and 11 points and 6 rebounds from Kameron Taylor.
In Group I, Strasbourg won the French derby against Cholet 96-84 in a fairly even game that was decided in the final quarter thanks to a great offensive performance by the hosts. Strasbourg got 18 points from Cavalière, 12 points and seven assists from Tyrus McGee and 12 points and eight rebounds from Nysier Brooks. Hruban and Campbell’s 17 points each were not enough for Cholet, who also got 15 from Nzekwesi.
