The Basketball Champions League has announced the winners of the competition’s awards for the 2023-24 season. Lenovo Tenerife veteran guard Marcelinho Huertas was named MVP of the BCL at the age of 40 after a season played at a very high level. This season he averaged 16.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists in 16 BCL games, leading his team to the finals.
Huertas and Tenerife will have a chance to win their second BCL title after winning it in 2022. The final between Tenrife and Unicaja in Belgrade is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, April 28 at 8 p.m. Italian time.
From one basketball legend to another: Vassilis Spanoulis was instead named coach of the year after leading Peristeri to the competition’s Final Four.
Finally, Howard Sant-Ross of UCAM Murcia won the award for best defender of the year in Basketball Champions League.
