Barcelona suffers its fourth loss in five games against Manresa

Barcelona in crisis, against Manresa comes fourth loss in five games among all competitions.

Daniel Perez starred with 22 points in BAXI Manresa’s 85-72 win over Barcelona in the ninth round of the Spanish Liga ACB regular season.

This was the fourth loss in five games in all competitions for Barcelona, which is now 5-4 in the league. As if the result was not enough for the Blaugrana, guard Dario Brizuela left the court in the first quarter with an apparent knee injury. Barcelona is already without Raul Neto, out for at least a month, as announced by the club earlier in the day.

Manresa ended the first half ahead 51 to 38 and maintained the lead throughout the third quarter. Meanwhile, Barca saw its starting guard, Kevin Punter, get ejected early in the second half with his second technical foul and his team trailing 56-42.

Barca went down by 21 points, 74-53, early in the fourth period and Manresa was able to maintain the lead for the rest of the game. Derrick Alson recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts, while Alex Perez netted 12. Willy Hernangomez (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Tomas Satoransky (16 points) were the best for Barça.
