Barcelona presented their new signings ahead of the 2024-2025 basketball season: these are their statements.

The 2024/25 basketball season is just around the corner, and the Barcelona team began its preparations last Thursday. On Monday, the focus was on the new signings, who were officially presented before the official match at the Camp Nou Spotify Auditori 1899.

The five players – Kevin Punter, Justin Anderson, Juan Nuñez, Chimezie Metu and Youssoupha Fall – were joined by president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafael Yuste, director of basketball Josep Cubells, section director Juan Carlos Navarro and coach Joan Peñarroya. The newcomers spoke of their excitement to wear the Barça jersey after the President’s opening remarks.

President Laporta highlighted “the commitment shown by the coach and the five new players in joining the club”. He continued: “Barça is a multi-sports club, in which basketball is one of the most important sections. These are five players who will be part of a team that the fans will fall in love with again.

Josep Cubells also praised the new signings: “They are good signings, they are milestones and they will bring a lot to the team and more than a few surprises.

Juan Nuñez comes to Barça with the aim of entertaining the fans. The young goalkeeper thanked the club for signing him and spoke of his desire to “repay the commitment and trust they have shown in me”.

Kevin Punter’s words: “U.S. player Kevin Punter said he was looking forward to playing in Palau after his experience with the opposing team last season. “I was impressed with the atmosphere and now I want to be the team’s top scorer.” Fellow American Justin Anderson is also a new arrival at Barca, and the versatile forward is determined to “win everything with this fantastic team”.

Another American import, Chimezie Metu, added his excitement about his first experience at a European club. “I can only be happy to have this opportunity,” the striker added. Finally, Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall explained what he hopes to bring to the team. “A lot of defense, intensity and the desire to win trophies”, said the 2.22-meter center forward.
