One of the most striking elements of the meeting was the presence of Pau Gasol. The NBA champion and Barça legend reportedly participated in the talks in an informal yet strategic capacity, aiming to “seduce” the club by emphasizing both the sporting ambition and symbolic value of a potential NBA–FIBA-backed league.
