The Atlanta Hawks have decided to cut NBA veteran Patty Mills, as reported by Shams Charania. The former San Antonio Spurs player this season has failed to carve out an important role for himself in the Hawks’ rotation, hence the franchise’s decision to take different paths. Instead, the Hawks are leaning toward converting the contract of guard Trent Forrest, hitherto tied to the franchise with a two-way contract, to a standard NBA contract.
Mills this season has averaged 2.7 points per game in 10 minutes of usage, shooting 38 percent from the three-point line.
