Neal Sako, the 25-year-old French center standing at 2.11 meters, will join LDLC ASVEL for the next two seasons. Sako, a dominant force in the Betclic Elite league and the fifth highest-rated player last season with a 17.7 rating, will leave Cholet Basket, where he has played since the 2022-23 season, to move to Villeurbanne and compete in the Euroleague for the first time.
Sako stated, “I am very happy and grateful to join LDLC ASVEL, a historic club in the French championship, and I am determined to help the team achieve its various goals for the upcoming season.”
Coach Pierric Poupet added, “I am very happy that Neal is joining us. He progresses every year thanks to his great work ethic. He is a vertical and mobile interior player who will be valuable defensively and will help us with his professionalism and daily drive to improve.”
