The LNB specified today that the club has paid only 70 percent of the amount due.

According to L’Equipe AS Monaco has yet to pay LNB about 30 percent of the Luxury Tax for the French league, about 300,000 euros.

Apparently sources inside the French league and also at Monaco mistakenly considered the problem as already solved.

In total, the team must pay 1.25 million euros ‘to compensate for their tax advantages and participate in the Betclic Elite.’

The LNB specified today that the club has paid only 70 percent of the amount due. According to this calculation, about 300,000 euros remain to be paid. A sum expected “in the coming days,” LNB says, as a sort of warning….

Without this final payment, the legal and disciplinary commission would be informed, with a range of sanctions starting from a simple fine to the revocation of championship successes –won by Obradovic’s men in the last two years– and even exclusion from the next Betclic Elite season.

A final scenario that would be nothing short of catastrophic for both sides and that as of today seems unlikely.
