Prometey Slobozhanske has made a big signing with the addition of Arnoldas Kulboka on a one-year deal. Kulboka (2.02 meters, 25 years old) is coming off an impressive rookie season in the BKT EuroCup with Promitheas Patras, in which he averaged 14.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and a 16.8 PIR while guiding his side to the quarterfinals.
At the age of 25, Kulboka now has the chance to build on an impressive campaign last year as he joins one of the semifinalists from the 2022-23 EuroCup season. The Lithuanian started his career with the reserve team of Zalgiris Kaunas in the 2014-15 season before joining German side Brose Bamberg, but he spent the first two years – 2015 to 2017 – on loan at Baunach Young Pikes in the German second division and then the 2017-18 campaign at Orlandina in the Italian top flight.
It took until the 2018-19 season for him to get a chance with Bamberg in the German first division, as he averaged 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 17 games. From there, Kulboka joined Bilbao, where he played a total of 56 games over two seasons, averaging 8.9 points and 3.8 rebounds. The 2021-22 campaign saw Kulboka split time between the Charlotte Hornets and its G League franchise, the Greensboro Swarm, before signing for Promitheas last summer. Now, he heads to Prometey as the team goes in search of EuroCup glory.
