Andrea Trinchieri: The hardest thing to understand is the distance from domestic leagues

Bayern Munich head coach Andrea Trinchieri talked with Italian newspaper La Stampa in a beautiful interview. This is just a selection of his quotes.

ON EUROPEAN BASKETBALL

«EuroLeague basketball is a very high level competition. The best basketball product outiside the Nba. The hardest thing to understand is the distance from domestic leagues. On Thursdays you play one type of basketball, on Sundays you play another. For example, are you still thinking about the big Tel Aviv game, you raise your head and are down 35-12 at the end of the first quarter in Germany. This against an opponent who has been rested and trained all week, who passes over you like “Frecce Tricolori”.  These make the work of those who train a EuroLeague Team more complex».

ON BAYERN MUNICH

«In 2021 we came within a shot, and last season within a quarter, of the Final Four. Two go back, with at least 14 teams that have more resources than us, we will have to fight as vietcong. The goals are to improve as a team and to win German championship».
