An anonymous NBA executive: “Wembanyama will be the best defender ever.”

According to an anonymous NBA executive Victor Wembanyama could become the best defensive player of all time.

Tim McMahon stated on Brian Windhorst’s podcast that an anonymous NBA executive told him that he thinks Victor Wembanyama could become the best defender ever. The San Antonio Spurs rookie currently leads the league in blocked shots per game, averaging 3.3, and is in the top 20 in the league in steals per game, averaging 1.3.

Recently, the lanky Frenchman joined Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to record two consecutive 5-hop, 5-stolen ball games, and he appears to be pulling away from Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the Rookie of the Year award.
