Adam Silver on NBA in Europe: I think there is a great opportunity

Before the NBA Cup final, NBA commissioner Adam Silver, speaking to the media also commented on rumours of a European landing. Last week, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis mentioned that there are advanced discussions for the NBA to sponsor a new European tournament.

‘We are not ready to make public announcements. We have not made any decisions, but I think there is a great opportunity to raise the level of basketball in Europe. The quality of European basketball is phenomenal. Many players in our league come from here, but we believe we can create something special in Europe.’
