Jayson Tatum recorded his first 40-point game since returning from a torn Achilles and won Boston’s game against Brooklyn with an overtime buzzer-beater.
Tatum finished with 40 points on 10-of-20 shooting and 18-of-22 from the line in the Celtics’ 125-124 win. “That was a hell of a feeling,” he said. “Just getting back to doing things I used to do before I was injured.”
He became the first player in NBA history to record at least 40 points and a game-winning buzzer-beater in a game before November.
