Sky News reports executives from Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid are expected to discuss the European basketball project on Tuesday.

Executives from some of Europe’s biggest football clubs are expected to meet with the NBA in London to discuss the launch of a new basketball league. According to Sky News, representatives from AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are among those expected to take part in talks on Tuesday.

The club chiefs will be in the British capital for Monday evening’s Ballon d’Or ceremony. It remains unclear whether their discussions with NBA executives will take place in person or remotely.

The talks come as efforts continue to finalise the sale of 12 franchises for a new European basketball competition scheduled to launch by the end of next year. Four additional teams are expected to participate annually through a merit-based system. Negotiations with potential investors have been ongoing for more than six months, with franchise valuations potentially reaching hundreds of millions of dollars — and as much as $1 billion for a London team.
