The Lakers have waived Dalton Knecht after unsuccessfully trying to trade him for frontcourt help
The Los Angeles Lakers have waived Dalton Knecht to get down to the 15-player roster limit. The team had tried to include him in a trade for another big man but could not find a deal.
Knecht was the No. 17 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and averaged 9.1 points and 2.8 rebounds as a rookie. His role declined significantly last season.
JJ Redick recently explained that “the team changed, the needs changed, the fit changed,” foreshadowing Knecht’s difficult roster position.
