Spurs debut Fox-Harper-Castle three-guard lineup in preseason win

San Antonio finally deployed De’Aaron Fox, Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle together in a 123-103 preseason win over the Suns.
The trio started slowly but found its rhythm, combining for 31 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by halftime.

“I’m glad they got to play some together and we got some reps out there,” Mitch Johnson said. “It’s time to push forward appropriately” with what he called a natural evolution. Fox, Harper and Castle shared the floor for 11 minutes in the first half, scoring 19 points with a plus-10 net rating.

Victor Wembanyama highlighted the advantage of having multiple creators around him: “I’ve got handlers all around me, guys that we want to put the ball in their hands and pick and roll around me. That makes things easier.” Fox added that the three guards had already discussed over the summer the possibility of starting together.
