ASVEL defeated Paris Basketball 98-96 on the road, overcoming a difficult start and taking a 46-43 halftime lead despite committing 13 turnovers. Tony Parker’s team stayed alive thanks to excellent three-point shooting.
Paris fought back behind Tyson Etienne, who scored 17 straight points off the bench, and Nadir Hifi. But ASVEL held the hosts to just one point over the final two and a half minutes, with Waters delivering the key steal for a 96-97 lead.
Hifi led all scorers with 30 points, while Etienne added 27. For ASVEL, Patty Mills scored 21 and Tremont Waters 19, including the decisive defensive play in crunch time.
