Jalen Duren has agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract to stay with the Detroit Pistons

Jalen Duren has agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract to remain with the Detroit Pistons. The deal ends a prolonged restricted free agency standoff that saw the center miss Media Day and the start of training camp.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Duren accepted Detroit’s standing offer before the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline on his one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer. The Pistons had put the $200 million proposal on the table about two weeks ago after offers ranging from $170 million to $190 million throughout the summer. The process reportedly created some fractures in the player-team relationship.

The 22-year-old had also considered a potential sign-and-trade, but Detroit held firm and the two sides ultimately committed to a long-term deal.
