The NBA is moving closer to agreements with several major European soccer clubs ahead of the launch of its new continental league.
According to The Athletic, PSG, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and AC Milan are among the clubs involved in talks.
Negotiations are reportedly progressing, with NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum and senior vice president George Aivazoglou holding private meetings in Copenhagen with executives from several interested clubs. PSG and AC Milan currently do not operate basketball teams.
NBA Europe is expected to launch with 12 permanent members and four additional spots, targeting cities including London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Berlin, Munich, Istanbul, Madrid, Athens, Barcelona, Manchester and Lyon. EuroLeague shareholders are also expected to discuss NBA proposals next week regarding a potential acquisition and merger with the new competition.
