Nicolas Batum announces retirement from basketball

Nicolas Batum has announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 37, bringing a 21-year professional career to an end after 18 seasons in the NBA. The French veteran announced his decision in a video shared on social media, closing a journey that began in France before taking him to the Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers.

Batum played 1,205 regular-season games and 76 playoff games in the NBA. With France, he won EuroBasket 2013 and two Olympic silver medals, at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. He had already retired from international basketball in 2024.
