Winning the first EuroLeague Super Cup in history allowed Sergio Llull to reach 30 trophies with Real Madrid. The 39-year-old veteran has worn the club’s jersey since 2007, collecting nine Spanish League titles, nine Spanish Super Cups, seven Copa del Rey trophies, three EuroLeague titles, one Intercontinental Cup and now the European Super Cup.
“It’s an honor to reach 30 titles with Real Madrid. The credit goes to the club, which has allowed me to wear this jersey for so many years.”
Reflecting on the win over Olympiacos, Llull added: “We’re very happy. The team did an extraordinary job. Our goal is always to try to win. We played two very serious games and showed character in close finishes.”
Llull also remains the EuroLeague’s all-time leader in appearances, with 487 games compared with Kostas Sloukas’ 464.
