Real Madrid, Tavares: “The key was to keep believing until the end

Tavares and Pradilla, two of the protagonists in Real Madrid’s win over Dubai Basketball, analyzed the semifinal.

The Cape Verdean center said: “I think it was very difficult. We know the first game is always tough because you don’t know where it’s going to come from. They are a team that plays well offensively. I think the key was staying in the game from start to finish, continuing to believe, doing our things and trying to run at all times. When we were able to free ourselves up a little, that helped us win the game, stay in it until we took the lead”.

“This is Real Madrid. We are taught that we must never give up, no matter how difficult things get. We have to be there until the end, because you never know when the game is going to change or when the moment to take control will come. What we did was stay in the game until we managed to do it”.

Pradilla: “The final will be a tough game”

“We’re happy with this game and to keep moving forward in the competition. Now, we’re going for tomorrow’s game. I think we had a first quarter in which we started a little soft, but when we got going defensively and were able to run, we got more open shots and maintained our rhythm”.

“The final will be a tough game, just like today’s. We know they are a great team, coming off a EuroLeague title, and that they made some great moves this summer. We know it will be difficult, but it will be contested until the very end”.
