Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv opened the 2026-27 season with a trophy after beating city rivals Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv 101-83 in the Israeli Super Cup final. Maccabi took control early and led 54-42 at halftime before dominating the second half and extending the margin beyond 20 points.
Roman Sorkin led the winners with 16 points, while new signing Yam Madar delivered against his former team with 13 points and 7 assists. Madar also hit an incredible full-court shot at the end of the second quarter. Vasilije Micic was Hapoel’s standout performer, recording a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists. Both teams will begin their EuroLeague campaigns on September 24.
